Tour Description
Meet with your local guide at the ferry and transfer to Marciana with a private car.
OPTION 1:
After our safety briefing begin the hike along the first section of the trail across the chestnut tree forest; then the hike becomes steeper and we continue uphill all the way to the top; after some well-deserved rest stops we’ll reach Mount Capanne bar where we’ll enjoy the stunning view over the whole island and archipelago. Take a break for lunch on the top. Descent to Marciana with the chairlift (20’) and then explore the medieval village. Transfer back to Portoferraio and embark the ferry to the mainland.
OPTION 2:
Explore the village of Marciana and its medieval narrow streets. Walk over to the chairlift station and enjoy the ascent (20’) to the top of Mount Capanne. Enjoy your packed lunch with a view over the whole island and archipelago before starting to hike towards Marciana. After a first steeper section downhill you’ll join the GTE (Great Elban Traverse) for a nice levelled panoramic walk. Once you reach back the town of Marciana, you’re done hiking. Reward yourself with a cold drink before transferring back to Portoferraio and embark the ferry to the mainland.
OPTION 3:
Combine Option 1 and 2 hiking up and down from the village of Marciana to the top of the Mount Capanne. In this option you won’t use the chairlift as you will be hiking the whole distance instead.
